"Sweet" Alice Harris, who was named the Lieutenant Governor's California Woman of the Year in 2002 for her endless efforts over the last 35 years to clean up the Watts neighborhood of South Los Angeles, needed some help of her own after a freakish storm (know as a supercell) dumped massive amounts of rain and flooded her home, as well as her entire community last year.
When the home of Sweet Alice Harris and her family suffered water damage, they lost their furniture and carpet, and for two months have had to live out of one bedroom. Unfortunately, insurance did not cover the damage to the Harris home, nor to the neighbors' houses which were also damaged in the flood. The beleaguered-looking block was in need of a sweet miracle, and one was delivered.
