On our first day with no media advertising or on site advertising other than the trailer and the smoke pouring out of the smoker in a town of 2,000 people in the heart of Central Indiana, our first day's sales were $850.
Only being open from 2 hours at lunch and 2 hours at supper Thursday, Friday, and Saturday our average was no less than $350 dollars per day.
Our first festival was Farmer's Pike in September attendance of 51,000 our sales were over $5,000 for 3 days. We had people calling us to place orders at our little local spot before we were even finished with the festival.
In my own mind what started out to be something to do on weekends, 'you know' just be like a hobby or a fun thing, we really turned this into a full time business that I can quit my full-time job because this is so much fun. It is hard work but it is fun--you get out of it what you put into it.
The enjoyment that our customers show us through the repeat business and telling their friends is heart-warming. It gives us great joy to provide something to someone and they tell other people how wonderful our food is and that they are getting enjoyment out of what we do.
