Hi,

I bought a 4ft tow-able smoker about 5 years ago for personal use and have loved it. It still amazes me how difficult it is TO NOT get into the BBQ business with my SYBBQ smoker. Any time I smoke for a party, Church, or other group people nearly beg me to cater an event for them. When I say, "No, this is just my hobby" I am usually met with intense skepticism. On several occasions people have mistaken my "NO" for the start of price negotiation and counter me with a ridiculously high bid for my business. Anyway, I am sure that this a common story as cooking with the smoker is nearly fool-proof and I have yet to produce anything that didn't leave folks begging for more. To date I have done boston butt, ribs, beef jerky, brisket, whole chickens, all kinds of sausage, and beer-can chicken in my smoker.

What I really wanted to write about is the durability of the smoker. I keep the smoker parked under a simple shelter at the family fish camp. Fish camp is next to a flood prone creek, so on occasion I have had to tow the smoker to high ground to avoid rising water. Unfortunately their have been two occasions when I didn't get to camp in time. Once the smoker flooded just to the motor; --The second time the whole rig was under about 4 ft of water for 2 days. I don't mean that it stood in 4ft of water, the tip of the smoke stack was actually 4ft under! In both cases I rinsed out the motor with water, sprayed a little electrical cleaner, let things dry real good and then fired the unit hot and re-seasoned the cooking chamber. The smoker still runs like a champ. In commemoration of its underwater adventures I have purchased a SCUBA sticker to affix to the trailer frame at the next family event.
