Hello I am Glen Meert from Granger, Indiana operating my very own business "Smokehouse Bar-B-Que".
I am living my dream and loving every moment of life. I enjoy meeting the variety of people in this business, both the barbequing people like myself and the public we are serving. I truly enjoy working for myself. I am counting the money all the way to the bank. Every day is a new and exciting day for me, I never know what to expect. I have met people from all walks of life. What a pleasure. This is my passion, cooking and being my own boss.
I am a proud businessman operating both a 6ft Southern Yankee Bar-B-Q Smoker and a beautiful Southern Yankee Bar-B Q Log Cabin Concession Unit. The log cabin which includes both a 4ft Smoker and a 4ft Charcoal Grill. (see picture above).
I have recently returned from the Kentucky Derby. Many comments were made about my Concession Unit. We were quite the conversation with my unusual menu selection and my attractive Log Cabin. At the Kentucky Derby all vendors are inspected twice daily. I was there for 3 weeks and received a 100% with each inspection. I was invited to return next year and to also attend the Kentucky State Fair along with other upcoming events (because of my Log Cabin Concession and my unique menu selection). Some individuals knew immediately that it was manufactured by Southern Yankee Bar-B-Q. A very unique design and the eye catching appearance. The appearance of my concession unit was what ultimately got me placed into the Kentucky Derby.
Most vendors serve hot dogs and elephant ears, but not me, my menu selection includes: rib dinners, prime rib sandwiches, smoked turkey legs, rib tips, and a variety of smoked items to tempt your taste buds. I also grill corn on the cob. In addition to the above, I also prepare and serve a large breakfast selection. I have fun meeting the variety of people in this industry. I love working for myself and setting my own hours. Most often I am parked on the side of a road in a familiar area that the public knows where to look for me.
